ABOUT US

Gymnastics World

GYMNASTICS WORLD was established in 1996 in Reseda, California.  It was a passion project of Freddy Behin to help children achieve excellence and higher self-worth through this wonderful sport.
Our core philosophy is to provide an environment that is conducive to the development of extraordinary athletes. We strongly believe that Gymnastics is one of the greatest tools to grow the young mind and body to prepare the boys for the future. Respect for self and others is the cornerstone of what we do.

OUR FOUNDER

Dr. Freddy Behin

Dr. Freddy Behin grew up in Germany where he began his professional gymnastics career and competed on the Junior National Team with DTB.  In 1990 he was recruited to the US and ended up joining UCLA as a starting gymnast leading to UCLA's NCAA National wins in 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997.  Freddy Qualified for the World Championships and introduced a new skill to the world, placing it in the Code Of Point.

After finishing UCLA in 1999, Freddy entered medical school and graduated receiving his medical degree in 2003.  He has participated in numerous charity surgical trips to 3rd world countries, donating his time and money, and helping several hundred patients, some with life-threatening conditions.

Freddy has been involved with Tony Robbins and his organization both as a Platinum Partner client and later as one of his Master Coaches helping clients with personal development breakthroughs.  Freddy is a published author and has been on numerous stages as a speaker, motivating and teaching success to organizations.

Freddy's goal is to instill the same principles into all students who come across him at the Gymnastics World.

PASSION PROJECT

Is it Talent, Luck or some kind of Magic?

WHAT MAKES A
CHAMPION?

All champions who are predictable and can produce sustainable success in life have one thing in common:
PERSEVERANCE
We truly believe that success requires way more than talent and luck in the face of challenges that come along the way.  Most give up and settle.  We believe that if you show up consistently and stay in the game your chances of success are much more likely. Coach Freddy has lived this throughout his life and continues to do so as challenges come his way (as you can see a few of them below).
Gymnastics World shows exactly those types of tools which build character.

COVID ALMOST BROKE US

AT THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE

Just like so many other small businesses, Gymnastics World almost did not make it through the pandemic.  With our landlord raising the rents and no income for so many months, the only choice was to close the doors and say goodby.
But we could not allow the dedicated staff and close to a 1000 students who call GW home be homeless.
Coach Freddy borrowed money and put his savings back into the gym to make sure the legacy continues.
